The Welcome Center’s lighthouse will serve as a beacon greeting more than 1.5 million visitors each year traveling I-95. The design reflects the traditional architecture of the southern coastal region. A gallery connects the lighthouse to the exhibit space wrapped on the exterior with a veranda. This building is environmentally sustainable reflective of LEED criteria, including regional materials, day-lighting strategies, light control and reflective roof.
