Augusta Welcome Center
Georgia Department of Transportation
Augusta, GA
16,000sf
1999
The design concept is influenced by Augusta’s historical tradition, classical architectural styles and golf legacy. Traditional architectural elements include red brick, rhythmic architectural features, and lush landscaping that reflects the 18 holes of the Augusta National Gold Club. The center is the second largest welcome and information center on the U.S. interstate system. The facility is designed to give the public an introduction to Georgia hospitality and a place to rest and refresh.
