The design concept for the Georgia Department of Transportation weigh stations was influenced by two factors: the need for uninterrupted visibility to the interstate and the functional operation of the facility on a 24/7 basis. A special inspection facility is also included. Materials were chosen for durability and ease of maintenance. There are two pairs of stations in Franklin and Columbia counties.
